DW saved my tail....gate

Whew, I made a list of things to check and had it laminated. Gave it DW to check as we hook and unhookup the 5er. Sure enough I screwed up and had the tailgate up when it should have down. DW says 'hold it' and says shouldn't the tailgate be down.

I said yes, please lower it and you just saved us a dented tailgate...ugh.

Gotta love all the things you can screw up.

Happy camping

We saw a nearly new F-350 in a store parking lot the other day with two dents along the top edge, close to the outside corners and a ripped out section in the middle. My wife said "I wonder how he did that?" Then I noticed the fiver base-plate in the middle of the bed!

That's why I consider hook ups, parking, and unhooking a team sport whether its a TT, 5er, or MH. Good team work!

I always do a walk around and haven't missed it yet....Wonder if theres ever been a thought by manufactures to install a tail gate warning light/alarm. Some enterprising RVer will invent one and make millions.

There are two types of people that pull fifth wheel trailers--those that have damaged the tailgate and those that will.

Type 3, those who get a V-gate.

The backup camera is in the tailgate and I also tow a snall runabout boat plus a 25' travel trailer where the factory camera in worth it's weight in gold. I would not want to switch to a 'V' tailgate until I damage two tailgates.
