Yikes...I hope you are kidding. Where did you read that. I had them as a strong possibility as my next rig.
If true. ..I agree, very sad.

Unless you have an inside source, I can not find anything about this.

Thank you for the link. Very terrible news indeed. Was hoping to get a new one. Guess I'll have to see if there are any used ones out there or find something else that's quality.

DRV and EXCEL

Both of these companies have been in competition for several years...They were both marketing products in the same price range...In my opinion other then the three custom coach builders there is nothing on the market of better quality...I have owned both brands my previous 5th wheel was a Excel Limited 35FLE 2007 model...It was a great RV we never had any major problems with it...My current 5th wheel is a 2015 Mobile Suite 38RSSB3 just purchased it last month...A few weeks ago I learned Heartland bought DRV needless to say I wasn't happy about that...It seems very peculiar to me that these two small companies go out of business within weeks of each other...Its a shame two great RV manufactures going out of business...

One from a "great" company, of course.

It was shocking news when I got an e-mail from a Excel dealer giving me this information. Wife and I have attended two major shows in the last 12 months and spoke with Brian T. at the shows. I told him a couple months ago I was not happy to see the Rhino roof go away but I understand the headaches of supply and demand. We were very impressed with the SDF model and layout. Put the construction and Rhino roof on that and it was the best 5r I have seen built in a long time. Well, now the Excel folks are in the same situation I am with a quality rig manufacturer that is out of business. Seems the "cookie cutter" or what I call Chinese quality or "disposable" makers are popping up right and left. Not to offend anyone because we have owned those brands too because it was what we could afford. But there is a niche I would think for some better built units. I am not certain that we will never see some of the old brands make a come back at some point in time. Chief industries still owns the King of the Road brand and patent rights. They are still around just not making RV's. NU/WA might just see an opportunity also to take their brand and Excel back. Will be interesting to see.
