Last night purchased a 5000RBT Fantasic Vent Fan and a Camco Aeroflow Vent Cover. (Mail Order)
Hopefully, I'll remove the existing vent, install the new vent fan & install the cover.
What kind of surprises am I in for?
What type of sealant is compatible with the rubber roof?
If it is necessary to crawl on the trailer roof, will I damage it?

You shouldn't have any surprises - - pretty straighforward. Get a roll of white putty tape for the initial seal and a tube of DICOR for sealing the edge and screws. Hopefully you did not get the automatic fan. If so, you will have to use it on manual using a cover. Yes, you have to get on the roof to do this installation. Assuming your trailer is built to be walked on, you will not hurt the rubber roof - - just use tennis shoes.

I did this very addition to our trailer at the beginning of last season. Our TT had 3 vents, only 1 with a small fan in the bathroom. I installed 2 Fantastic Fans, 1 in the bathroom, 1 in the kitchen. The 3rd vent is over the bed. I installed the Aeroflow covers over all 3.

The main thing that you may find difficult is finding the right location in the existing vent opening to drill the holes for the brackets to attach the Aeroflow. READ the installation instructions thoroughly before you start. It's not rocket science, so take your time and measure twice before drilling the holes.

With respect to the fan installation, Fantastic includes a good quality foam gasket to use in the installation. Although I bought a couple of rolls of the white putty tape, I didn't use them. I did seal around the edge of the gasket and the screw holes with silicone caulking as recommended in the instructions. If you decide to use the white putty tape, it is just good extra protection to make the best seal.

If you are installing a Fantastic Fan, DO NOT use putty tape under the flange, use only the foam tape supplied. WHY NOT?? The Fantistic Fan flange is plastic, and when putting the screws in, the putty tape will compress too much and will crack the plastic flange. The important part is using DICOR and letting it flow over both the roof and the flange, being carefull to cover all the screw heads.

I see that you have a 22' Fleetwood Travel Trailer. Fleetwood does not make their travel trailer roofs to be walked on (unless they've recently changed and I don't know about it). When I installed my vent covers I simply put a piece of plywood on the roof then stood/sat on that while working. This will distribute your weight and keep you from damaging your roof.

Your fan is not the fully automatic type so it should work OK with the vent cover.

Last year my DH & I installed aeroFlo covers on our TT. We are NOT the Handy type and usually do not do any mods.
No Problems, you will find the cover installation very easy. We tested our covers on the road slowly at first to make sure they didn't blow off !! and were surprised we did it !! Worked well........
Good Luck on the Fantastic Fan !! ours was already installed, no info on that

As stated above, be SURE to use a piece of plywood to spread your weight out over a greater area.

we puy the max air covers on a few months ago, easy as pie. , no drilling throug the roof. it installed with screws through the sides of the existing fantastic vent
