Fantastic Fan Install

A friend of ours has a 09 Keystone Cougar 5er and wants to install a Fantastic Fan. They took the trim around the vent in the center of the unit (center kitchen I believe) and felt around. They could feel wires running on both sides from front to back but didn't find any wiring that may have been installed for a future fan. I guess the question is, do they normally install a prep for a fan in that location?? Thanks for any info you can provide.

The wiring they found was probably for lighting, but should work for a Fantastic Fan as well. Could always contact Keystone customer service & ask.

There won't be a fan prep package on a Keystone. But the wiring can be used as long as it's not switched power wires. Would they want a t-stat for it or just ceiling control model?

If the wiring near the opening is switched then this is what you'll have to use unless you want to run new wiring. If the wire is for the interior light then that light would have to be on to run the fan. No need to not install the fan and have the advantages just because you need a light on. You make the call but I have two Fantastic fans and one IS on switched circuit and I have to remember to flip the switch to allow the fan to run.

No thermostat involved. They just purchased the fan with the remote control.

Thanks for advice so far.
