In my trailer I have an Audiovox radio/cassette
player. It is the type that will play the tapes
over & over until it is ejected. My question is
how do I clean the heads. On looking in the
little door I can not find the heads.I know the
heads have never been cleaned in the last
several years that I have had this unit ?
Thank you.
Brian.

Seems like they used to sell head cleaning cassettes, looks like a cassette, run like a cassette and then remove. don't know if they are still available as then CDs have pretty well replaced the tapes. You might check your local Radio Shack

You know, Brian, for a little more than the price of cleaners and solvents and your valuable time you could replace that cassette stereo. We put a Pioneer model 2030 in our truck for about $100. It has a cassette player, AM & FM, is XM compatible (with a sat. radio receiver) and accepts a CD changer. For the record, the cassette player and CD changer rarely get used - satellite radio is THE way to go!

Thanks for the info. Will check out the local
Radio Shack for a head cleaner.
I intend to keep my present radio as it is a
nice unit and does not get much use anyway.
Cheers.
Brian.
