First RV buyers & full time living

Looking to purchase a Heritage Glen 370 BL, to live in and wanted to see if anyone had experience with a Heritage Glen 5th wheel. Any help appreciated, thank you in advance.

First RV buying I'd buy used. So you can figure out if you'll like it. For full time in a 5th wheel as a first timer I'd be looking more toward and artic fox.

I would not really recommend the brand you are looking at for full time living, in a Forest River brand I would look more towards the River Stone, Cedar Creek or Cardinal. Good luck on your choice.

I agree on buying used for first time. I'm not a big fan of Forest River from a quality standpoint...getting rid of mine. Take a good look at Grand Design....I'm in process of buying the Solitude 2930rl now.

Just a suggestion!

Last year we were looking for a used bunkhouse to park at a bay NW FL property and a Heritage Glen was located used. It was a 43' and weighed less than the 39' Crusader we ultimately bought by over 1000#. That tells me it's very under built and under built means not durable. My guess is if you carefully look at the Forest River Heritage Glen web site you will see statements such as suitable for occasional use or not intended for full time use. As such, you have no warranty on a new unit is using full time. Don't be fooled by glitz.

Absolutely buy used. Especially if you are a first timer. At this point you don't know what you want or need and the really big one is that you don't even know what you don't know. We have been through this and now have been full timing for 10 years.

Going used you can also buy higher quality for the money you spend and someone else took the depreciation hit.

Even try renting an RV a few times. You may not like it.

Respectfully, unless you can afford a Riverstone, personally I would not buy a Forest River product. I've got one and in process of replacing with a Grand Design.

Understand but that's why we have choices, we had a Cedar Creek and it served us very well thus the move up to a River Stone. We did like the Grand Design but when we were looking they did not and would not offer any changes to their build, even tho one of the owners I spoke with agreed with the changes I wanted but still would not provide them. Just like all brands people have had good luck and bad luck.

We are in the same boat - getting ready to FT. So is the Forest River poor quality all together? We are looking at a used 2016 Sandpiper FLIK to go to the Carolinas.
