This weekend i took the opportunity to re-weigh my TV since we left the fiver at home base.

back in april i weighed the tv and fiver together but didnt have time to unhitch and weigh the truck empty

so below is what we got in april
F/A rating 4850, actual wt 4620
R/A rating 9000, actual 7040
Fiver Axle rating 12k, actual 12200 ( yep i had to dump fresh water)
for a total of 23860

so monday i weighed the truck in its same configuration and full fuel,
F/A 4620 (not a typo)
R/A 4160
GW 8780
GVWR 13k which leaves me 4220 of payload

so when we do the math i was running a pin wt 2880
but i noticed my front axle wts didnt change, I sure thought we should see a 1-3% loading up front???
my hitch is set 1" in front of the axle
do i need to move teh pin forward another 1"???

When I weighed my Ford F350 (previous truck), the front axle weight only gained 40# when the fiver was on. If I were you I wouldn't fool with it, what you don't want is less weight on the front when loaded.

Well, I don't think it would hurt anything to move the hitch 1" forward. I doubt you would gain more than a hundred pounds or so on the truck's front axle, though, so I doubt it would really effect anything.

It looks like you have plenty of extra capacity on the rear axle of the truck, where the axles on the 5er are to the point where a full tank of water puts them over...

I think I would be thinking of what's heavy on the trailer that could be located more forward...

the rv went on a weight loss program after last trip
magazines, book i already read, dead batteries

files, real soon most of the clothes wil get seasonized and packed up
working and living is a bit costly on clothes three suits, pants, shirts, ties four pair of dress shoes, more pants, t shirts etc
december its all getting packed and shipped out to home base

I wouldn't worry about relocating the hitch. Sounds fine to me.

I like the trail air setup. We have a lot of rough roads out here in the west. With this setup, the trailer is smooth as a rock. Looking in the rear view mirror, you can see the pin box "float" up and down. I imagine if there was no air pin box, that motion would have to be either in the trailer, the truck, or both. Same with the centerpoint suspension (though in a different axis).

All in all, it's a very stable platform. I never find stuff open or rolling around on the inside of the trailer when we stop.

I suggest leaving the hitch as-is. You don't have much wiggle room on the front axle but you do on the rear axle. If your hitch frame mounts are installed per hitch instructions you cannot improve handling, ride, or weight transfer in hard braking situations. A panic stop will transfer a lot of weight to the trucks front axle if you move the hitch any more forward.
