Forest River

I looked at a Forest River Sierra 330RL this past weekend and am looking for some feed back from someone who might own this 5th wheel and/or have an opinion about the quality in Forest River rv's. We are getting closer to retirement and do not want to waste our money on problems. We are also hoping to go full timing when we retire. Your input is greatly appreciated.
thank You
John

I have a 2013 Sierra by Forest River. So far, i love it. Like any unit, they all have problems but i know the first week i bought mine the converter fried. Dealer couldnt help for several weeks and i was on vacation in the midwest headed back east. I called FR directly and in 30 min the liason called back with the service manager from FR. He told me what to check and then said "does 6 am work for you tomorrow? " as it would have been same day but i was still in iowa and 5 hours from the indiana plant. If thats not customer service i dont know what is. The next morning i had it at their plant and they went through all electrical components with a fine tooth comb.....about 4 hours later it was good to go. They gave us a much more thorough PDI from the builders rather than the dealer who really doesnt know much (learned more in 1 hour there than 5 years of rv travels). Overall IMHO, FR has been great and geneally will stand behind their product.

Forrest River

Purchased a 2012 Cedar Creek last December and have nothing but good things to say about the quality of the unit as well as the service provided for the minor issues I did have. It is a solid unit with many features that appealed to my wife and myself so I would give them a big thumbs up.

Question

friend bought a forest river salem at retirement, had a bit of trouble with it, fit and finish for one were not good he said and had to go back to dealer to repair, and after a trip across Canada and having the tires hitting, a dealer he took it to put in heavier axles and leaf springs, said they were just not heavy enough for his unit.
He has said he would not buy another.
He still has it, but moved to Vancouver Island, so don't know how well it is going now.

Sounds to me like he might have been way over the gvwr.
