Forest River Silverback

Looking for information on the Silverback by Forest River. More specifically the 29IK or 29RL models. 2014/2015. Any history or consistent problems any of you have heard of. I really am impressed with the fit and finish with the ones we have looked at.

Cedar Creek Silverback Fifth Wheels.
I am interested in the Cedar Creek Silverback 29RE. Do not want the center counter kitchen because on the road with the slide in, will be hard to have lunch and sit at the table. Just my preference. Lot of people like that model. Looking at the floor plans do not see a 29RL. See 29IK and 29RE. Do see a 33RL
Best of luck with your search.
P.S: Also like they have the prep for the washer and dryer.

The Cedar Creek Silverbacks are a good mid range fifth wheel. And they're susceptible to having about the same amount of problems as other comparable brands.

With their high ceilings and tall sliders, I find Silverbacks to be a very attractive brand/model. There are also some big discount dealers offering them online at very good prices.

I've got a Forest River Sierra and thus far I like it. A few little issues that are getting fixed now but all in all I've really enjoyed it. I don't have to duck a thing even the slide ceilings and at 6'3" that's really important to me.

I think the Silverback is the best built for the price point. Silverback uses hung wall construction so delamination will never be a problem. I believe I have the last of the 29RL models and it was an early 2013 model. We purchased ours in March of 2012 and as we are ending our third season with this fifth wheel we have had very few issues with it.

The lack of a kitchen island in the 29RE model gives the model a much larger and open feel. We would have purchased the 29RE but with the slides closed access is restricted to the living/dining area. At least it was with the 2013 models.

Thank you to each of you for taking the time to respond. Oakman, it was a 29RL that originally attracted us to this Mfr. The units all seem well built. We were wanting to hear from some owners to see what their experiences had been. What a great resource this group is.

The CC Silverback website has a downloadable article from the RV Lifestyle magazine about the Silverback 29IK. Hereís the link. Silverback Fifth Wheel Downloads by Forest River

LOL, I donít recommend towing the Silverback with the Toyota Tundra that they used in this article.
