Just bought a 38 foot 2007 Bighorn 5th wheel yesterday, and my wife is already complaining of dizziness after one day, mainly after she opens the cupboards or drawers to put things in (concentration in a confined space over time?).

She is very chemically sensitive, and she suspects Formaldehyde, but I wonder due to the age of the vehicle. Looking at a special type of air filter or other measures to solve the issue here.

Anyone have any experience with this too? If so, how did it play out?

Formaldehyde is used to manufacture adhesives and resins found in carpet, linoleum, paneling, insulation, furniture foam and fabric, etc. Every recreational vehicle, automobile, and home has formaldehyde in it. Recreational vehicles tend not to get used and aired out as often as a person’s home or vehicle which captures the odor lending to the assumption that building materials differ across these industries.

IN an 07 I would think the Formaldehyde would have dissapaed.

That said.. What I think and <Cost of a cup of coffee>... Well you know what that will get you right (1 cup of coffee).

I'd get an enviormental specialist to stick his electronic nose in there and see what he can sniff.

Leave all the doors and vents and windows open on a sunny breezy day and thereafter leave cupboard doors open during storage and a roof vent open a little.

Sorry to read about the situation. After opening everything, possibly use a couple of fans to get the air circulating. I hope it works out for you and the wife
