Motor started slowing like the batteries were going dead, unit was plugged in, plus I hooked light cord to truck. Pulled motor/gear reduction box today, and it works fine. With motor off and using hand crank, it will lower fine; but when trying to crank it higher, the "gear box" that turns far side leg, will twist to where the little legs pop up and over the leg its mounted to. Took top cover off gear box side leg, and felt the gears--couldn't feel any problems with teeth on the gears. Anyone had this problem? Or any ideas what to do next? Thanks in advance.

Is Everest made by Keystone? Are your landing legs made by Lempit? (I'm not sure I'm spelling that name right.) I've had to rebuild my '08 Challenger's landing legs three times - twice to replace the shear pins and one to completely replace the gears. Also, the 30a fuse kept blowing out.

In June, I replaced them with units that each have a motor and are able to lift 6,000 lbs each. It has been a job to get these units in but they seem to work very well. The legs are made by Ultra Fab. They cost about $460 (including shipping) from Ebay.

Just parked our rig for about 3 months. Closed slides. Drained all tanks but left a few gallons in each. Killed batt. Did leave one of those rachet devices between two tires. Got to thinking if that was a good idea - leaving tires compressed. would just the simple chocks be better ? Unit is on level ground & summer weather.
Also removed the tire pressure transmitters, thinking may extend batt life ? Figure they must be activated by the valve stem pressure.

Any suggestions from you experienced rv'ers is appreciated.

I'd remove the chock from between the tires, just that much less stress on the tires. Inflate tires to 10 psi above sidewall maximum when in storage for same reason.
