It lights via 12v, so your batteries cannot be low.

Possible causes:
low gas pressure
intake or exhaust vents obstructed
dirty burner
electrode(s) out of adjustment, dirty, or defective
bad control board

Part of low gas pressure can be a build-up of oil in the gas regulator. I recently had similar problems. I removed the regulator and dumped almost 2 ounces of oil out it. That fixed all LP flow and ignition problems.

had the same problem and it was the thermostat. try wiggling the thermostat or move it slightly left or right on the switch. hope it helps.

Check the sail switch... it's a micro switch that will be next to the cabin blower wheel. It's function is to make sure the fan is blowing before it lights the burner. If the switch is stuck or defective the fan will start but the igniter will never know... result, cold air only.

just to expand on my comment a bit. mine was doing the same thing. sometimes it would work, then next time it wouldnt. got frustrated and shut off the thermostat (so i thought), and as i was walking away i heard the furnace light. went back in and checked the heat/gas /elect. slide switch on the therm. it was off centre of where it said gas. i guess my thermostat is half worn out but now find if i put the slide switch in that same position it works every time. at some point i will replace the thermostat but now that i have it figured out it is not as urgent. hope this helps. my unit is a 2000
