Hello (this is my first post) we have friends at the campground who have a 1987 5yh wheel prowler (sorry I can't remember more than that) and we have been looking for WEEKS for the fuse box/ breaker panel. There was no owners manual when they bought it and we'd like some hlep as to where if might be found. We've checked every cubby inside & out and my husband even tried following the wires to see where they go with no luck.

Any suggestions?

Hello, and welcome to irv2.com! Usually the converter panel may be found near the floor. It should have a metal front with vent slots, you can hear the cooling fan run when the converter gets warm. Older converters make a humming noise that you can hear if everything else is quiet. When you do locate it, you'll find a row of automotive fuses controlling the 12V side of the RV interior, and household-type breakers controlling the 120VAC side behind the metal cover. You will see what a converter looks like at parallaxpower.com. The 2 and 3 pictures are of a new unit but what you are seeking is very similar in appearance.

Remember back in '87, RV's didn't have nearly as many electronic devices (i2VDC and 120VAC) that they do today.

Maybe the few 12V items had inline fuzzes. That is the fuzzes were in the positive wire and were physically located close to the device that it was powering. As for the converter maybe there is a single 120V breaker located on the converter itself.

Maybe this will help, let us know what you find out I am curious.

thanks for the replies! We will look again on the weekend ... you'd think it would be easy to find ... and yes I'll let you know when/if we find what we are looking for!
