Generator/inverter

How small a generator (storage space) can be used to power a trailer with a 50amp service?

Depends on how many things you want to run at one time....

All you NEED is a small Honda 2000i or similar so you can run (one at a time) microwave, water heater on electric, furnace, charge batteries. If you want to run one A/C, then you need 3500w gen or two Hondas. If you want to run all, then a 6k gen would be a better choice.

Depends.

If you decide on a Honda 2000i, get the companion one as it'll take a 30 amp plug, then your adapter
