They that's true, they will all get the job done if you don't care about looks, comfort, technology, but ford has the nicest interior and rides the best with dodge a very close second, and Chevy 3500 has plenty of power but the rest of it just sucks in my opinion, especially the ride. I don't like the outside styling of them either but you may like it and not the others, everyone has thier own tastes.
The interior at the top trim level isn't as nice with all the features that ford and dodge have but the interior won't probably matter much to you if you're not getting a platinum or longhorn or whatever the best trim with all the options is.
With as much as they cost id definitely check all three out if I was you and take them all for a test drive, I did and I ended up going with an f350 6.7l platinum and they are undeniably sweet but you're probably not gonna end up with one if you're wanting the cheapest tow vehicle.
Mine is my daily driver and I go on 2000 mile trips but if you're looking for just a truck to only drive when towing short distances and have another daily driver you can save a small fortune and get an older used one or even just a base model if saving cash is your goal. In that case is do more research on whatever model year that happens to be because they aren't always about the same as each other, all 3 makes have certain years I'd want to avoid or put a little more money into to fix the common problems for good.
