I just adjusted the brakes on my fiver. When giving the wheel a spin to check the adjustment I noticed a bulge in the tread of one. I probably would not have otherwise seen it. On further inspection, in discovered a slight bulge in the sidewall. I also found one other tire had a slight tread bulge. Last summer, another of these failed and did quite a bit of damage. These were all the original tires. Four years old and about 30 thousand miles.
I just ordered four Michelin XPS RIB replacements. Even the new (3,000 miles) replacement I bought last year is going. PS: Anyone in the San Antonio area want a great price on a narly new 225/75 R 16?
I thought I was very safety conscious and checked things regularly, but I nearly missed an imminent tire failure.
