I have been reading there as well. Been doing general Google searches on the company and reading as much as possible.

At this point, I am not set on any one manufacturer and I am very open. Just seeing the Grand Design and reading the comments of owners has me very interested. Looks to be a reasonable value.

The one thing I am definite about is moving from a TT to a fifth wheel. I have had two travel trailers, but zero experience with fifth wheels, so more posts to come regarding hitches, pin boxes and tonneau covers. Lots to learn.

Any of the mfgs units will/can have problems/defects--paying $100k+ is no guarantee you won't have to have warranty work. Having an mfg with a good rep for getting things fixed is important. As is the dealer you buy from.
You have plenty of truck, that's good.
Hope you can figure it out to get what you want.

Just to update; just purchased a Grand Design Solitude 379FLS. Waiting on washer/dryer and slide toppers to be installed before picking it up. First trip planned in two weeks.

We enjoyed our 24 foot travel trailer, but look forward to the added space.

Thank you. I made a quantum leap when I went from a 14 foot A-liner to a 24 foot travel trailer; so I am ready for another significant leap.

I am certain I will have to go through a learning curve in backing a large fifth wheel; but I am hoping in terms of drive-ability that it will not be a challenge (I was pulling the TT with an F150).

That is a great floor plan and one of the 5th wheels at the top of my list. Keep us posted on how your ownership experience goes!

Congratulations!
