Hard wire amp monitor for fw

I just picked up a 2016 Crossroads Cruiser FW. We always had MH, so this is our first FW. It does not have an AMP Meter as I am used to having on MH. I would like to know how many AMPs we are pulling when parked at a campsite. Most sites are 30amp, and if we are lucky we do get 50amp sites. For the 30 amp I would like to have a digital amp gauge to show me how many AMPs we are using so I don't blow a circuit and more importantly melt my plug.
My friend is an electrician and said if I find one he will hook it up for me through my electrical panel.
Does anyone know or have purchased one and if so, can you send me a photo of one and where you purchased it?
Thanks.

As far as the Cruiser FW...... would never buy from Crossroads RV again, worst company in the world to deal with.

If your RV is 50 amp get a Progressive Industries HW-50c and install it,, This is a Surge Guard, the kind that shuts you off if power is not proper (High/low Voltage etc).

If your RV is 30 amp change the 50 to 30

In both cases go with the HW type (hard WiredO

Shows current, and voltage and if you ever do the plug into a welder outlet thing.. Tells you you goofed without damage to your RV. (A very good thing).

Thanks. I have a surge guard. I am looking for an AMP Meter that I can install inside my fifth wheel that will tell me exactly how many AMPS I am drawing. Sometimes having the A/C and Microwave on is about 27 amps and if you are at a 30 amp site it is helpful to know that you cannot turn anything on if you are close to 30 amp. I don' t know why the mfrs don't install them on FW, I had them on MH and it is great to have.

As stated, the Progressive Industries Surge Protector protects you AND displays your amp pull, as well as voltage. I wouldn't plug in without one.
That would have been the one to get, maybe you can sell yours?

There is something called the Kill A Watt but that's only monitoring the outlet you are plugged in to, not the entire trailer line.

The reason they are not standard is people already gripe about the price of trailers anyway. Add more, and they still want it dirt cheap.
