I made a heavy bumper for my fiver and carry my Champion 3500/4000 on it.
I have a heavy locking cable and a cover for it.
I have since added side bracing to support it from flex

Measured and the Honda 2000 will fit in my cargo area. Wouldn't this be a good place to store for security? Run only outside or in truck bed. Think it only weighs 50lb, so not heavy to move. Seems everone is putting in truck bed. Maybe bigger units ?

Understand the 2000 will not run the ac but most other appliances - not all at same time. Think it puts out 1400 watts and 13.3 max amps.
Appreciate any advice. Planning to buy the Honda in next few days.

If you have room in the storage area to carry it I would as I am a firm believer in "Out of sight, out of mind". Less likely to be stolen.
