** Heartland Sundance 298BH XLT

Anyone here own a heartland Sundance 5er? The wife is seriously looking at one now and I am interested in hearing from some owners.

Also, who makes Heartland?

Heartland is now owned by Thor. And Thor is driving them down. But I am still looking at getting a Road Warrior. My local dealer has dropped Thor coaches, but at least for now is hanging on to the Heartland trailers.

Pretty sure Heartland is made by Heartland. Thor owns Heartland, along with a bunch of other brands including DRV. I don't think Thor actually "makes" anything, other than money. Good luck with your decision. You might go over to the heartland owners site for more info.

We have been happy with our last two Heartland Trailers, a 2013 31' TT and our current 2015 41' 5er.

I would not bother with Heartland. Mine is no good. Saw several in an RV park in Texas that had the same issues as mine. Water leaks in the rear wall seems to be the norm with them.

This is good advise, the owners forum is very active and has a ton of great people (including me ) there that would be glad to answer any Sundance questions you have.

Heartland Owners Forum

Thanks Ford.. I did head over there, but I don't think I will be getting the Sundance... Closest I could find a dealer that either had one or would consider ordering one for me was about 7 hours away and their trade in quote was, honestly, insulting.

Really is a shame I can't get someone to sell me one... We really liked them.

Heartland is still having quality control issues. Seems to be getting worse not better. They just opened a new 12 bay service building at the factory. That is a huge question mark for me. Problems that have to be taken clear back to the factory and omit the dealer are deal breakers for me.

That's probably because all the dealers are so bad.

Sorry did not check their inventory. Seems they have none. My apologies.

My experience with our HL unit is that they are made to sell. In 6 years I spend 125 hrs in making our unit capable to last 15 years like the previous bad unit. They all need repairs and I thought ours was better built.
With the design of the front frame, no way I will have a bigger unit.
This year I had to rebuild the rear panel due to rot. And also repaired the front frame that was shearing at the welds.
I will never tow any 5th wheels with more truck then I have. It seam the frame design is to calapse in case of accident. Not mine anymore as I fixed it properly for good.
