Heat and A/C fan at the same time

I have a fresh out the box Cougar from Keystone. When I turn on the hear from the furnace, the fan from the A/C in the roof kicks on too. Keystone says it's like that by design to circulate the air. I'm calling bullcrap. My buddy has the same model that's doing the same thing. His is in the shop being worked on.

Must be something in the thermostat. I assume that the heat you are talking about if from a propane heater in the basement. If it is on gas only, it should not turn the A/C fan on.

I wish my mh did that or at least had the option to. But, if Keystone says it's that way on purpose, and two identical units are doing it, then perhaps that's the way it was setup.

Bull crap tends to float on both sides of the bucket. If it doesn't sink, you may have to swim through it.

Our Georgetown motorhome did the same thing when I turned the furnace on the first time - the AC fans would blow constantly. Turns out we needed to fool with the wall thermostat - set it to cool then AUTO (not high or low fan), then set it to heat. The fans quit running and we just had heat!

Of course thermostats and units vary, and if the manufacturer is telling you this is by design it could be to prevent condensation. But if you have a wall thermostat for heat/cool give that a look.

What would happen without shore power--is the fan in the AC on 12volt? Not likely.
Something not right about this, I sure would not like it that way.

If you have a new multi purpose thermostat the heat setting is for the heat pump in the air conditioner. There should be a furnace setting to get just the furnace to run. Check out the mode button.
