Based on it's location, that it ties into main dump line w/o a valve at tie in then I would suspect it is galley tank drain and that the dump valve is inside.

Area directly above axles.......is that kitchen space?

Given the floor plan of your Mountaineer, have you looked between the axles on the driver and passenger side. I read on another thread that another baffled owner with a Cougar found his galley tank valve there.

My Keystone TT has 3 tanks also. The galley tank dump valve is separated from the other valves by a long distance. Instead of getting 20 + feet of dump hose to drain it and crawling under the slide to do so I just put one of those drain caps with the garden hose adapter built in on it and I have a dedicated black hose hooked to it. Then where I hook my hose to the camp sewer I got one of those Y connectors with another hose adapter cap on it. I put a hose shut off ball valve at the Y adapter and while camping I just leave the galley gray tank open, I open it before I pull out that slide. Then I just drain the tank via the ball valve. Even though you probably have cable operated valves I'd suggest the ball valve at the Y connector. This set up with the Y connector, valve, end caps, and garden hose probably cost $40 but it sure makes things more manageable and easy. I leave it closed normally so I get no sewer fume back up etc. Works pretty slick. I have very little solids go down my kitchen sink as I have screens in the drains. So when I drain it's just soapy water. I have screens in my shower and bath sink as well. Thought about putting one in the toilet but I couldn't find one that size and the wife didn't like the idea.

Good idea bob except for the toilet one ! lol My galley tank drains into the main sewer dump line so only one hose to contend with.

In all my searching for the galley tank drain valve, i drained the fresh water tank that the dealer had filled, and i had been towing around, and with the galley tank being full, and now drained ill be around 1000lbs lighter when i pull out !
