OK. I removed my two batteries from my fifth wheel yesterday to do a small repair. I didn't pay attention to how the wires were connected and now don't know how they go back in. Yea...pretty dumb I know! I am pretty sure that positive and negatives are hooked up in series. Is that correct? Also, does the positive or negative wire go to the converter? Can anyone PLEASE help me? I promise to make a small diagram so this won't happen again! Thanks!

IF you have 6-volt batteries (3 fill caps on each battery), then the 2 batteries are connected in series - that is, the positive of one battery connects to the negative of the other battery, and the remaining positive goes to the converter with the remaining negative going to ground.

On the other hand, if you have 12-volt batteries (6 fill caps on each battery), then they are connected in parallel - that is, positive connects to positive, negative to negative and the positive lead connects to the converter with the negative lead connecting to ground.

Thanks Rusty! I always can count on getting a quick answer on this site. I do have the 6 volt batteries, so I'm headed out there to hook them up right now.
