I bought a used 94 Dodge 2500 in Washigton State in 1998. The sales paperwork idicated a fifth wheel hitch was removed from the truck. The dealership left the mounting brackets that are attached to the underside of the truck.
The bolt holes measure 31" front to rear and 33" left to right. I have been unable to find a hitch with that same bolt pattern, and the sales and installation people I have spoken to have no idea what fit that pattern.
Any help would be appreciated.

Can you get the name and phone number of the previous owner? If dealer won't give it maybe your DMV. He might be able to tell you.

Sounds very much like an older RBW... it uses a c-channel type mount that the hitch would slide in .. then use spring loaded pins to secure.... a real PIA if you bed is tweaked in any way to install and remove... very much like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/RBW-5TH-WHEEL-HITCH_W0QQ...temZ4605547277QQrdZ1

Thanks for the inputs. I do not have the contact information of the previous owner. I think the RBW hitch answer is the most likely correct answer. I saw one a couple of months ago in a truck but wasn't able to take any measurements.
This is a great website.
