Help with inverter

Well we made the plunge last week and bought a 2015 Columbus 320rs and love it. However, can somebody please help me with my inverter. The unit has a residential refer that runs on shore power and also off the inverter when traveling. However, I can not get the inverter to work when not hooked to shore power. I hear the converter come on when plugged into shore power but when unplug power to the inverter plug looses power as well. I know there is a remote button inside and I have tried everything. I am sure it is something simple I am not doing. Can anyone please help.
Thanks,
Bob

I have a totally different trailer, but on our remote switch you have to hold it on for a few seconds. Then let off of it, and the green light will stay lit, and the frig will be cooling. Not sure if yours works that way or not.

You might also look for a circuit breaker that has tripped. Not the one in the circuit breaker box (but I'd check that also), but somewhere near your inverter there will probably be a row of circuit breakers. One of them will have a little black button on the side of it. If it is sticking up, press it in to reset it.

On ours you also have to hold down the button a few seconds for it to start. One thing you might consider is getting an automatic transfer switch installed. It will automatically transfer power from shore to inverter and vice versa. We have one on ours and it is a great feature that is not very expensive. Our inverter runs the only the fridge so all I have to do is turn on the inverter when we leave for a trip and off when we get home.

Bob,

Did you ever get your inverter problem figured out? I was interested in the solution if I should ever have the problem.

I did get a solution. Although I was told the inverter was checked and all was ready to go with the unit the inverter was not hooked up correctly to the battery. This was something I finally figured out myself, with the help of my electrician neighbor, after the dealer was unable to track the problem. But now it is all working properly and I have no complaints after our first trip.
