Help with these wires
Just recently picked up a 32' forest river sandpiper. Did a good walk around checking out the camper. Although somehow I missed this when I was under the camper. Can someone tell me what these wires are for? Before you ask. No I don't not cut them, I found them like this. Thanks!

X4. Those are definitely your tank sensors. Guess the previous owner got annoyed with false tank readings and instead of cleaning the tank to try and free up the sensors, just cut the wires.

Tanks sensors... Look around. It appears like they might have got pinched and cut on something.. I bet you'll find the other end of the wires draped over an axle shackle or something that pinched and cut them. Maybe bottomed out on something that cut them?
I see the other end of the red wire in the photo..

Rather than reconnect them, I would switch to a capacitive coupled system like See Level II or other brand. Much more accurate and reliable than the cheap sensor type.

Thanks for all the responses guys! Still a newbie to the camping world. Going on 3 years but still a lot to learn.
Ya the other end of the wires were not all in the pictures, but are there. If I decided to reconnect. What is the best way to clean the tank so I don't get false readings? Drop the tank?

Unless you are going to a lot of dry camping I would not really worry about the readings. I have never seen sensors that can really be trusted anyway (that should start some debate). I have been a full timer for 8 years and I seldom even look at the tank monitor. I dump the black tank every Saturday. The grey tanks stay open all the time and I seldom use the fresh water on board (it gets drained and replaced more often than used).
