I never care about water pooling on the slide topper. It just sags down and rest on top of the slide roof and goes away when either the wind blows or I pull in the slide.

Your Preference

We bought our FW off a lot, it had factory installed toppers and I was pleased about that. There are toppers & toppers, ours our Dometic which I believe is the low end (Factory Installed). I would check out the different brands, I'm sure you could get the type used on Lifestyle Fifth Wheels for your FW. I have had good luck with Sunbrella Fabric at my parents condo, 16 years old and the dark green has not faded or rotted. I'll be lucky if I get 6 years out of mine. You can also get the metal protective cover.
After being in Florida for 4 months I do have to climb up on a ladder to clean the slide out roof. Dust, Dirt, pollen etc. accumulates under the awning, so I use the mop I wash the trailer and truck off with and clean every thing off before I bring the slides in for the first time. I don't want to bring in the slides with all that stuff coming into the FW.
If we were traveling every 2 -3 days I definitely wouldn't be cleaning the slide tops off every time.

Had them, won't have them again. No advantage for me. Just another thing to replace down the road!
