Go weigh your truck and then go hook up your 5th wheel and go back and weigh them combined. Compare the difference and that will tell you what the pin weight is.

True pin weight can ONLY be achieved by getting truck/trailer weighed
Load up 'camp ready' (all people/pets/stuff) and go to Weigh Scales
Weigh truck/trailer combo....drop trailer and get truck only weights
Then you will can figure out TRUE WET PIN WEIGHT
At CAT Scales

First weigh ticket is $10/$12
Second reweigh within 24 hrs is FREE
(one trip...just drop trailer in parking lot and go reweigh)

Otherwise.....guesstimate is best one can do
Look at 5th wheel 'UVW' (Dry weight of trailer) and the Pin Weight (Dry Pin)
Calculate what percentage Dry Pin Weight is for the UVW

Using that percentage calculate guesstimate wet pin weight for Trailer GVWR
OR
Use 20%, 22%, 25% of GVWR for guesstimates of wet pin weight

W/O weighing it is strictly and educated guess.

I have a 3500 SRW and a 14K 5th wheel (13,873# actual weight when fully loaded)
WET PIN is 3080#---a tad more then 22%
Trucks RAWR is 6200# -- I am RIGHT at that rating and under Rear Tire Max Load Ratings

Weigh the truck with the trailer on it; weigh the truck without the trailer. Bingo, difference on rear axle is the pin weight. Won't do much good if you do the weights without being loaded for camping...

You can also buy a small hydraulic scale from Harbor Freight and weigh the pin when it is sitting on your fifth wheel hitch. They don't cost very much and I believe they go to 5,000 lbs.

A free way is to Find a closed DOT truck house, they leave the scales turned on whether the scale house is “open” or “closed, second way would be a scale at a truck stop, but that will cost per trip.

You need to weigh the front and rear axle difference NOT just the rear axle

I would not trust any number coming from a Harbor Freight tool. Especially when it comes to towing.

LOL, oh come on, why so skeptical?...
(please note my sarcasm) I do purchase some expendable items there, but yeah, let the buyer be-ware.

There really is more value in knowing all your axle weights, than just a static pin weight. Particularly your tandem axle comparisons. There are many towing trailers nose high etc..
