I need to change the shut off valve on my black water tank and it is under the belly pan. Any suggestions. I have a 2001 thor four winds 30 foot

Well I guess if you crawl underneath you trailer and remove the screws holding the belly pan, locate the valve and commence replacing the valve.
It really is not advanced nuclear science.

That's the way they did mine a few years back. Just removed enough screws to drop the pan, replace the valve and replace the pan. They then resealed the pan with some aluminum tape.

Hopefully, the manufacturer left a removable access panel in this area. If the belly area, fiberglass, aluminum of the Darco fabric?

Some do not leave easy access for the future owners and you have to cut and patch an area.

My Kountry Star had a cut out for the black water valve and it was marked BV. Sure enough that's where it was but I had to enlarge it to actually work in there. I suggest calling manufaturer or dealer to get a location and just cut a hole. Then patch it. You will know where it's at and it will be easy to access next time.

Hi there,
I have a 1999 Kountry Star and may have to replace the black water valve. Could you tell me what kind of valve this is and if it is operated by a cable or rod and how they are connected to the actual valve? My pull handles are in an outside compartment and I can't see the actual black water valve. Any information you could share would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

On my '04 (yours may be different) The valve was the standard black water valve which is pretty common. Mine was operated by a rod which crossed the entire width of the trailer as the valve was on the other side of the trailer from the handle.The rod was connected to the valve with a cotter pin. The original handle on the valve was removed. Or maybe used on the other end of the rod. My first repair on the black water valve was that the cotter pin had fallen out. I replaced that pin with a very small nut and bolt. The valve itself is easy to replace. I have found after empting the contents of the tank to jack the trailer in a manner which tilts the tank away from that outlet lets me work without dribbles
