How to secure a 2-pedestal table while traveling
Has anyone figured out a safe way to leave the table up/useable while on the road? I hate putting it up and lowering it, and I would rather spend my time doing something else. I have come up with a scary idea. It is a tension device made of spectra. Spectra is a small rope about 1/8" in diameter and extremely strong - attached to eyebolts that screw into the pedestal mounts on the floor and under the table. They would parallel the legs and be almost invisible. I worry that the heavy table at such a height would be able to wobble around and perhaps break the "monkey metal" bases or maybe cause a failure somewhere else. We don't use the table for a bed at all, but still wouldn't want a permanent table (future grandchildren). The table is several inches from a window.
