I read all the articles on this forum about installing one of these to replace the stock one that comes with your trailer, So I went ahead with the install and could not get it to work so I figured no problem re-install the OEM stat and worry about it later. Hmm? now the AC does not blow cold air, pretty sure I asked for cold air didn't read that anywhere in the instructions, nor did I see any warnings about possibilities of screwing up your AC unit. Is that it I screwed my unit or is there some simple little thing I need to do to reset it? and yes I rewired it back the way it was I even took pictures with the digital camera and wrote down the wire placement before begining.

You neeed to double check your wiring. If you are 100% sure it is wired correctly, check the control board in the A/C unit to see that the fan and compressor relays are pulling in (energizing). If you were not careful with the wiring and the power was not off (120 volt and 12 volt) itis possible to short a wire and burn the board.
I have put the hunter digital in several RV and never had a problem. It is really pretty sstraight forward.

Sorry for the delayed reply have been in the process of moving, upon closer examination of the problem the problem is that the compressor won't kick on and cool the unit when the auto fan switch is engaged but when switched to fan on (always running) the compressor kicks on and cools an turns off when desired temp is reached. So the unit will function in this situation but not in auto fan where the fan only comes on when the compressor kicks on to cool the unit and off again when the set temp is reached, so at this time my trade off is the ac works and cools my rig but I have to listen to the fan running continuously.

TXICEMAN,Would greatly appreciate your help with the wiring of a hunter thermostat. I had done it before, but changed it back to the original because I found the timer settings too confusing. I now have one with the up/down buttons. I have a Fawn, or tan wire that goes to the fan,rather than a green, and currently the dark green wire is hooked to the ground terminal on the Duotherm unit. Does this wire go to the Rh and Rc,by way of the red jumper? Please advise, or post the correct crossover. Thanks.

And ANOTHER
I found it a waste of time to install the SPDT fan switch for low speed as it is seldom used. Most A/C units will freeze up on low speed fan.

Thanks guys. I just replaced the old junk coleman t-stat with the $25 Hunter 42999B. What a difference. The hunter is so much better.
