Hydraulic Leveling System

I've had a few issues with one of the small inline breakers tripping on the hydraulic gear. Every once in awhile it would trip and shut down the system, like it should. After the 2nd time, I'm thinking something else is wrong, looked on here and conclusion was just a weak breaker, If it happens again, replace the breaker. So we hooked up just fine, no issues got to the CG, go to extend the landing gear and nothing, no click, no humming, nothing. I check the breaker and it's not tripped. So I'm in WT Heck mode, I have power, everything else is working fine, just not the hydraulic system. So I step back, thinking for a second of what it may be, maybe the extender switch? So I go inside and try the switch on the slide out and I hear a click but no movement. I go back outside to the front landing gear switch and it clicks, stick my head inside the front storage compartment and hit the switch again, there's a spark at the hydraulic motor. Evidently it's been the power wire loose from the start, I'm guessing since we got it. It had melted one of the plastic wire insulator protectors to the motor bolt and was the only reason the nut & wire was still on the motor bolt terminal. Fortunately, no permanent damage, just another case of poor workmanship during assembly & my inexperience of not checking the wires on the motor the 1st time it happened. Now I literally have been checking every wire, clip, nut, bolt & screw.

I agree. Thanks for sharing. Every little thing like this that we hear about or experience is something to put in our toolbox to help others down the road. Some of these solutions are not even things that would occur to us if someone did not already experience it.

Just an example, my hot water started getting cooler and cooler. I started looking for causes and someone suggested a mixing valve. The valve was good but we discovered that a faucet in the outdoor shower was turned on (would never look here since it has not been used since we bought it). It seems that the parts start to deteriorate over time and it started leaking internally and created a mixing valve.
So thanks for sharing.
