Hydraulic Slide Out system

My 2003 Forest River Cardinal 5th wheel has hydraulic controlled slide out system. The system has developed a leak and over time the hydraulic fluid will slowly leak out and pool in the floor of the front storage compartment just under the unit. I am parked long term but would like to have this fixed. I can't determine exactly where the leak is and was wondering if others may have had this problem. Thanks

Real common for the reservoir to pump connection to fail. Some have been able to replace the "O" ring with a new one. Over time the reservoir, because it is plastic warps causing the problem. There has been a couple of people that have successfully forced it back round, then added a new "O" ring. Still others have simply replaced it with a new one.

Do a search on this site, and on RV Net site for hydraulic pump leak. I went through this a couple years ago, and just replacing the O-ring will not cure the problem. Remove the plastic tank from pump, clean inside with break cleaner. Get new oring, if yours dont have any nicks it can be reused! Install oring, put a bead of the black silicone sealer around the outer edge of oring, and smear some around the tank ahead of the oring. Slide the tank back into place, being careful not to move the oring. LET SET FOR AT LEAST 24HRS.!!! (minimum) Finish putting everything back together, and make some kid of support to put under the end of the oil tank! Refill with the proper oil and run slides in and out at least 3 times to get air out of the lines.
