I read the manual; over and over. When I follow what it says, it won't scroll through the various controller settings, it just goes back to scrolling through the menu. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, if I am.

Thank you so much! Going through the U-Connect screen worked. I was in the EVIC screen, and it just wouldn't let me get to the type of braking system. Sometimes these trucks are so complicated.

" one of the techs at the dealership installed a control module to try and fix it"

My question is why did he do this?

He added a Cargo Towing Solutions adapter module. All the techs we dealt with were really nice and very helpful to an obvious newbie. They said it was common for factory brake controllers to not recognize trailer brakes, and this was their fix. My controller was seeing the braking system, so their "fix" didn't really do anything. I'll take the module off, now that I have the trailer home.

I would ask for my money back. They should have known how to adjust your controller!

I have a 16.8k Landmark. Should that be HEAVY electric? Is it the brake type or the weight of the trailer they are referring too? Newbie here.

Yes. That's what I started with. Try it going slow. Adjust it so You don't get wheel lockup but pulls it down good

Oh, they didn't charge me anything for the mod; they were just trying to get me fixed so we could head back towards Fort Worth.

What kind of brakes do you have on your trailer ? My Ram manual says if you're over 10,000 lbs. you should be rated "heavy," whether it's "electric," or "electric over hydraulic."
