Thanks everyone for all the great opinions, thoughts, suggestions and ideas. My wife and I just retired and plan on traveling to many areas of the country within the next couple of years. So although we are not full timers we will be putting a lot of miles on the trailer and when I checked the thickness of the shackle brackets I did notice that they were not very thick nor did they have zerks for greasing.

I also experienced some brake fading one or twice when I came around a turn and found traffic backed up and had to get on the brakes much harder than I would normally.(no I don't speed just came around a sharper turn and wildlife watchers were all backed up) So I think the disc brake option might be a consideration in my decision.

Thanks again for all the information provided in this forum. I knew I could count on you all to provide thoughts for me. Even biased opinions are appreciated.

Here is some personal experience on brake/suspension--
2005 Mobile Suites, very near original weight ratings with factory suspension--had to replace all springs and bolts/bushings twice. Then upgraded to 8k springs/axles, still had some bolt problems--found one snapped in half but still in place prior to taking it in for trade. Got a newer '15 with the IS/discs and you just have to have 2 units with the different underpinnings to appreciate the difference. Do you have to have it? Is it worth the cost? To me,yes; to you--your decision.

Well worth the price. It has to be installed at their factory in Elkhart Indiana though. We had both the independent suspension & disc brakes done last year while back east. The difference in ride, handling & stopping was immediate & impressive. My wife noticed it immediately riding as a passenger.
