Insurance

My wife and i just purchased a new heartland fifth wheel. My question is has any one that has state farm insurance used it. every question i can think to ask my agent, she says i'm covered. every time i need to use it for my vehicles or home seems like all I hear is "that's not covered" We used state farm for our boat and never had to use it. wondering if state farm is a good rv insurance

I have state farm and had to use it on previous diesel pusher to repair a compartment door that came open while driving. They paid it with very few questions asked. I haven't had to use it on this trailer but I've had very good experience with a couple full coverage claims on our vehicles.

I have State Farm for house, two autos and the Discovery. Over the last 40 years I've never had a problem with any claims I have had. We lost our first Discovery to a fire and I thought the settlement both the contents and the actual coach was fair.

That being said, weather something is covered or not is all dependent on what coverages you are paying for. Read the contract, and if it is in writing that something is covered then it will be covered.

It's funny you say that. I got the same answers about my FW questions, but from GEICO. Their FW insurance seems too easy and inexpensive. However, I asked again at renewal time and received the same answers. Fortunately, I've never had to file a claim to test the coverage.

There are no simple answers on insurance.

You need to comparison shop the reputable companies. Price depends on your driving record, location class, and each level of coverage.

I am in Rural Route Class 1. It is the lowest location cost in PA. If I lived in Philladelpia the over-all rate would triple.

Each insurer has rates that vary by state, or even by county.

Make sure the quotes are one-on-one for all coverage levels. Some like to provide lower pricing via lower coverage.

So, no simple answers. You must shop. Brokers may help.

Best of luck!

The first question is are you full time? If so you have another whole set of questions to ask.

As for GEICO we have been customers to near 30 years. They have taken wonderful care of us from teenagers in the house to our house being our MH. I am certain I dfoyld get a cheaper rate but heck this is the "devil" we know
