inverters

I have an Intelipower 9155 that I believe has died in my Excel 5th wheel. So far I know it is a 55 amp & due 2 issues is no longer produced, they do have a 60 amp version. Was wondering if I could just install the 60 amp without changing anything?

Hi, Mom!

Wow!-25 kids???
You're a better woman than I am!
"Best Converters" is really helpful when it comes to your kind of question- they've got good prices, too!
Here's a link to their "ask Randy" page:

Good luck!

I really thought it was 25 kids!
Maybe replacing the "2" with "to" would prevent others from making the same mistake...
Though I must admit, the laugh I just got out of it is the best I've had all day!

Just fyi the unit you are referring to is called a converter, not inverter. Just mentioning so that you end up buying the right thing.

To answer your question, a 60-amp unit would be a direct drop-in replacement and will work fine.

Could I just install the 50 amp in place of the 55? Yes, no problem

Since it is a 9100, make sure you get the charge wizard to go with it, (unless that is you had one on the old one and it is still good)

The general rule of thumb is 10% makes no difference, that unit is 9% bigger, so no difference.

Note: Like all general rules.. There is LONG, LONG list of exceptions, this is not one of them however.
