Jayco 5th wheel need help!!!

We have a jayco 38' tl legacy. we have an electric/ propane 10 gl hot water heater, it is over heating. we are not sure how to fix the problem or where to go to find out what we need to know. If anyone else has had this problem, what did you do. Does anyone know where we can locate an owners manual. your help would greatly be appreciated. Tia ___A

How do you know that the water heater is over heating the water is the pop-off valve opening up(on outside of water tank)?

Most RV water tanks heat the water to 145F and you use large amounts of cold water to adjust the water temperature at the tap.

For a Jayco manual go to the Jayco site and click on Owners support. Here is the link Jayco, Inc.

We also need to know if it is a Suburban, or Atwood water heater. There is a thermostat on the side of the Suburban (I know for sure), and I would guess there is one on the Atwood also. Check it and see if it is turned up all the way, if it is, try to turn it down some and see if it makes a difference. If not, the thermostat will have to be replaced. You can go online and find out how to replace it once you know what brand that you have.(Usually there is a how to on Utube)

My Atwood heats the water to the dangerous hot level. I changed both temp switches and no change. It's actually a good thing, with only 7 gallons of hot water and a endless amount of cold we can take 2 long showers and not run out of hot water. But, when washing your hands be careful - like they say doesn't take me long to hang on to a hot horse shoe...
