I am currently looking at a Jayco 35CLQS and Mountainner 344RET. I was wondering if anyone had any pros or cons on them. This has been a really tough decision. This might be a dumb question, but is the PDI normally done before or after purchase documents are signed.

Thanks in advance.

I can only speak from experience based on one side. We've owned two (2) Jayco Designers - a 1996 3030RKSS and a 2000 3610RLTS XL. Both gave excellent service and were good value for the dollar. In addition, Jayco's reputation for customer service and willingness to stand behind their product is exceptional.

You can bet that I would make it a condition of sale that we do the walkthrough and that the dealer has completed the PDI before I would sign the final paperwork accepting delivery.

By the way, seeing that this is your first post, welcome to iRV2.com!! We're glad to have you join us.

Yes, welcome. I have no experience with Jayco, and am not familiar with the Mountaineer 344RET, but we have an '05 298RLS and are very happy with it. There is a possibility for problems with any brand you buy, and ours was no exception. But all of our issues were minor, and were taken care of to our satisfaction by the dealer, which leads me to believe that picking the dealer is equally as important as picking the brand. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a Mountaineer.
