Jayco Eagle Super Lite Wheels and Tires?

We have a 2008 Jayco Eagle Super Lite it comes with 15" wheels and 225/75R15 Tires

I was wondering if anyone has been able to fit a 16" wheel and a Michelin XPS LT225/75R16/E

First, seeing that this is your first post, welcome to iRV2.com.

The nominal diameter of a generic 225/75R-15 is shown as 28.5" - see HERE. The advertised diameter of the LT225/75R-16 XPS Rib is 29.4". If you can give up 1" of clearance between your tandem axle tires and still have, say 1.5" clearance after the switch, that should be acceptable. Of course, you'll want to ensure that the additional 1/2" radius of the XPS Rib will not generate any clearance problems above the tire when the suspension is at full compression.

As far as a wheel and tire package that will fit your lug pattern and stud diameters, I'd suggest that you give Scott a call at Trailer Tires and Wheels as they specialize in these conversions.

If you can pull it off, you shouldn't have any more tire worries. The commercial all-steel construction XPS Ribs performed admirably on our previous 5th wheel.

it looks like we have about 5-5 1/4 inches in between the tires.

and we can raise the camper up about 2 in. with the bolt that mounts the leaf springs to the frame since it is in the lowest hole

Well, it sounds like you have it made. As long as you're purchasing tires and wheels, you even have room to move up to an XPS Rib with a higher load rating such as the 245/75R-16 that gives you 3042 lbs @ 80 PSIG and a diameter of 30.6" (a little more than an inch larger diameter than the 215/75R-16). Of course, with the wider cross section (9.6" versus 8.6" of the 215), you'd want to make sure that you won't have any interference issues on the inner or outer sidewall areas.

I think we would need to stick with the LT225/75R16/E so the tires are not any wider so they would not rub the finders

The only other option i was thinking about was staying with a 15 in wheel and going with a Maxxis 225/75R15
