I have just bought a 2015 Dodge 3500 1 ton for towing my 5th wheel a 32' Triple E, 13,500#.

The truck does not have dually's.

What is your opinion concerning air bags?

Should I install them?

Try it first without them. I'm sure you'll be fine. I towed a 16k Montana with my 14 2500 ram without them, and it was a real good ride.

Ken,
I would tow the trailer a couple of times and see if you really need the air bags. The weight to me seem to be acceptable for the truck without the need of air bags.

I did not install bags on my truck which is a 2500HD 2008 Mega cab until two years after I bought the truck. It took me that long to determine if I really need them.

I am considering installing the air bags on our 14/ 2500 Ram. It handles the 13k 5'er very well but suspect it will protect my suspension when we encounter some of the more severe roads on our travels. Doubt I will install the "on board" compressor as I wont be changing pressure when towing. Also, wont be inflating anywhere near it's max. lift capacity.

Depends solely on your pin weight. When you hook up fully loaded, you will know.

Your truck will handle the weight of your trailer just fine, but air bags will offer some additional load support and safety.

Air bags will stop the truck from porpusing after hitting bumps while loaded. They will also keep the rear end from squatting, which will keep your headlights properly aligned as well as help preventing uneven tire wear. Let me know if you have any questions at all.

Doubt you will NEED them. If you do add them they will help even out the bumps. I installed them on my 3500 RAM Dually and it helped with the rough roads. I ran 30psi loaded.

Maybe they have changed the compressors in the last three years. I had a lot of trouble
with the compressors. Had to have two replaced in less than a year. And was going on the third when I traded. If I needed any help again I would look into a extra spring. Had a 11
3500 Duramax Dooley 38', HH. CE.

I have them on a 14 3500 Ram run with 50 Then drop to 5 empty. If you get them get a compressor makes life much easier. Dump the stock gas shocks get Bilstiens the yellow and blue ones much better valving .

Have a friend who just bought the 2015 2500 diesel and the rear suspension is like I've never seen on a pickup truck.

I'd suggest using it a bit before doing any modifications.

Most Ram SRW 3500 are well equipped in the rear to tow heavy. My friend with a 16k unit traded his 2500 on to a 3500 and 20" wheels and feels very comfortable with the new truck.

I have 2 friends that installed them on their trucks (F350 & Dodge 3500). They were fine towing but when they aired them down to use their trucks as daily drivers they beat the hell out of them. The ride without a load & the bags aired down was really rough. They tried putting more air in them but it didn't help the unloaded ride.
