Just bought a old Nu Wa Hitchhiker.

It's 38 feet long and only sleeps two. I have no idea what year it is, probably around 1980. It needs a lot of restoration, but I really am in love with it. It has so much room. First thing it will need before winter is the roof resealed. It has a small soft spot in the floor by the bathroom. The power plug needs to be replaced and the wiring for the house batteries put back to what it was. They had jerry rigged some wires into the big storage area and the mice had chewed those wires. And the molding around the windows needs to be replaced. Also some roof panels and cracked vent covers. I wish I could see what it looked like before when it was new so I restore it to its former beauty. I'm living in it on some property so it will be interesting fixing it up. Lol. I do have a Winnebago with me that everything works on, my daughters live in that and I can move in as needed during the repairs. Some pictures:

svdreamer, even though NuWa no longer builds trailers I think there still some people at the plant. Send them these pictures and they may be able to help you out with what year this trailer is. We had a 2003 Champagne that we traded in our motor home. We really hated having to get rid of it too but, due to health reasons we had no choice.

Jerry

Definitely give NuWa a call. They still sell and service 5ers, and have a good parts department: 800-835-0676

Also, you can get a lot of useful info on the NuWa Owner's forum:

Good luck,

Jim

Thank you for the NuWa number, Jim. I just now had signed up for the NuWa owners forum. Unfortunately, I have now Internet and am doing everything on my iPhone, so I have to figure out how to post pics there.
