Using your TV's remote, go to the settings menu and see if it requires you to set up the TV for cable.

For a temporary fix just run a cable directly to the tv. If it works then the cable routing is bad or a fitting is lose. Probably need to give GD a call or your dealer to get it fixed. It's not uncommon to have coax issue from any brand.

If your air antenna is powered (light on) you will need to turn it off and then using the tv remote enter the menu and do two things. Make sure the mode is on cable and then run an auto channel search. I give this same advice to my customers at the park I manage and it always works. We always proof the cable signal at the pedestal connection, using s small portable tv. As stated above, if you still don't gat a good signal run the cable thru a window directly to the park pedestal connection. If still no signal replace the supply cable (cat6)
Each park you visit will require a new channel search. If you are near a large city, you will often find that your air antenna will pull in more channels than the
park cable supplies. Again, correct input mode and auto channel search...

Agreed. The OTA switch / amp should be off allowing cable pass-through. re-scan OTA /cable channels for local programing if switching back and forth. You could also need to switch TV from HDMI to cable / RF depending on set-up from say Satellite receiver HDMI.

Be well.

Have you switched the tv source to air from cable? Should be a source button on the remote. Or maybe it's in the menu.

I also had problems with cable reception. I went through the checks listed above by others and still had problems. Kept getting code 227 signal interrupted on screen when hooked to cable. Called the cable company and they Checked the signal. It ended up being the booster in my 5er that was installed by the manufacturer. They put a different one in there and it worked. They didn't charge me either. 😀

The antenna booster is probably on. The location varies, but it is usually where either the main or bedroom TV connects. It is a small push button switch and a small light to signal whether it is on or not.

It sounds to me like a switch or programming the TV set. I'm a little challenged in this area but I have a move the coax when I switch from antenna to cable (I normally use satellite on HDMI). My coax for the cable goes to the antenna in on the TV and if I want to use the external antenna I run a coax from the antenna in 0n the TV to the booster box (which is above the living room TV on mine). Turn on the booster and program the TV according to the TV instructions. Either way (cable or external) you will need to program the TV when you move between places. I personally wrote down all the instructions because I will never remember them between the uses. Good luck and it does not sound serious you just need a 12 year old to help because they seem to understand all this stuff .
