Hi, We just bought a 2011 Keystone Cougar 5th wheel: Yesterday the switch worked the landing gear. Today the switch wouldn't work it. I tried out the remote (very confusing) and it worked the landing gear, but the switch still doesn't work??? Any ideas???

and i assume the switch doesn't work in either direction?

Troubleshooting 101: Can you unscrew the switch and check the wire behind?

2: Can you identify where the wires go? They would be connected to some sort of controller, which you know functions because the remote worked.

My first suspect would be the switch itself being bad. Second suspect is a wire is loose behind the switch or at the controller. there could even be an inline fuse.

Dear friend. We recently sold our 2014 Cougar 5er to a local man. When he picked it up, the jacks worked fine and after he got home they didn't. Same symptom. He said he found a blown fuse on the right side near the battery box for the front jacks. I figure I was wrestling a metal tripod into the front bin just before he left, maybe it made contact with the switch connections or something. At any rate, the fuse was found blown, which he replaced and hasn't happened since. Good luck. Bill

Hello we have a 2011 32res cougar and last night after we parked the camper in our front yard to get it packed up. We had the same problem landing gear didn't work. We checked the battery and tried charging it but battery read fine. We found out that it was in fact a mini 30 amp fuse in line the wire that was blown. One trip to walmart and problem solved. Hope everything goes smoothly for you.
