Keystone Hideout

Anyone have any experience with the Keystine Hideout 5er? I've seen other keystones 5ers and this entry level one has the floodplan I want and fits our budget better. Wondering about the overall quality of an entry level camper. Thanks!

My brother purchased an entry level Hideout from Keystone about 26 or 27 feet long. There is so much corner cutting to control costs that the overall impression is that it is about to fall apart. He has had a cracked shower floor pan, numerous slide leaks and other assorted problems like the particle board under the bed breaking and roof leaks. It's covered by warranty but the same substandard items go back in. After the bed support broke for the 2nd time I cut a piece of 3/4 plywood for him and now solid as a rock. The mattress lasted one night and was replaced because he said that was cheaper than the trips to physical therapy.

Ugh-so MSRP is 8-10K higher to go to the Cougar. Was it the travel trailer or the 5er? MSRP for trailers is less than the 5er. Hopefully someone else has a different experience. :-)

Anyone else know about the Hideout 308BHDS fifth wheel. We will only use it 6-8 weekends a year. Not that I want a hunk of junk, but don't need top of the line either. I see the 2015 are coming out and can find some great deals online (liek 26-29K) which is about 10K cheaper thank others I am considering. Thanks!

Don't know about the Hideout but I had a Cougar for a few years and never any problems with it, just keep up the maintenance.
