I noticed on another discussion some negative comments regarding King beds and difficulties getting around it to make it.

I'm wondering if the problems were from floor plans with Queen standard and King optional? Looks like putting a King in a space made for a Queen would be the problem and they take out things like side cabinets so the bed is against the walls. I'm also wondering if someone with this problem could fix it by having the bottom sheets made with pockets, like waterbed sheets, on 2 corners? Then just slide the mattress out, put the pockets on the top corners, slide the mattress back and make the bottom as usual or have pockets there as well.

I get less bruises in a King bed.

You've got a handle on the problem , they put the king into a queen size ( with side tables ) space , so you loose the side tables or at least 1 1/2 of them . Sliding the mattress is the easy way to access the top corners with the fitted sheets , for those strong enough to move it.
Personally , I enjoy having some room between my face and a wall , or in the case of some RVs a window. But I sleep on my stomach. I know TMI.

Yeah, they don't make the bedroom larger for the king beds. Our current coach disappointadly came with a king bed. So little room on either side of the bed. However, once we used it we found we really liked the bed size and having less room beside the bed didn't bother us. We liked it so much so that we then bought a king size sleep number for home!
Our 6 pound Yorkie digs all that space, too

We have a king vs queen and really like it-since our three dogs sleep with us. (Every night is a three dog night for us.) We sewed a heavy piece of elastic in all 4 corners of our sheets so they stay put. There is enough room to get around both sides and there is a sliding closet door on one side that can be opened if more space is needed to make the bed. Our last RV had a queen with the little side cabinets that were pretty useless anyway. I added a support extension and made it into a king bed and that was tight....

King bed was on the must have list when we upgraded to the Phaeton. It's no tighter to get around than our previous coach with queen and no king option, so we don't miss anything I guess. The bigger bed is great.

We ended up with a queen bed in our current trailer and wish we'd have held out for a king. This one will get traded in soon and a king bed is a must have in the next rig.

Been married for 30 years have always had a queen bed so the trailer gets a queen also. It makes buyings sheets easy.

I prefer to have two nice night stands with drawers.

Just keep in mind that an RV king/queen may not be the same size as your as your home mattresses. The home sheets may be too large and take some extra effort to fit on the rv. standard king will be 4" wider than RV king for instance. Here are some sizes for comparison:

RV Full: 53" x 75"
Short Queen : 60" x 75" (most common short queen size)
Short Queen: 60" x 74"
RV Queen : 60" x 80"
Olympic Queen : 66" x 80"
RV King: 72" x 75"
RV King: 72" x 80"
Cal King: 72" x 84"
Eastern King: 76" x 80
RV Bunk: 28" x 75"
RV Bunk: 30" x 75"

We had a Cal king at home but the DP came with a queen. DW wanted another king but we are fine after 6 months no issues. Like others have said it does allow more make up room. Thankfully we are just average size.

I definitely won't be doing one of those shorts. And I figure spending a third or so of my time in the bed, I'm going to be comfortable so I want a king.

I like the nightstands too. That's why I was saying the floorplans made for a King are the ones I'm looking at because those that have a Queen with a King optional just take out the nightstands.

King bed all the way after all you are sleeping in it . The making it only takes a short time but the comfort of having all the room when sleeping is priceless.
