Landing gear motor attachment ??
I have a 2006 Fleetwood Gearbox trailer. Earlier this summer, the landing gear motor and gearbox came loose from the driver's side landing gear leg. This caused the motor to spin around and brought my camping season to a halt. The tabs on the landing gearbox are intact. The bolt/pin holding the shaft for the passenger side leg is intact. I was not able to find any loose pieces in the storage compartment on that side which may have come loose.
Can you please enlighten me on what I need to do to get the gearbox to stay in place?

Not the best photo, but it looks like an Atwood 5th Wheel landing gear assembly. I have attached the link for service manual with detailed parts breakout starting on page 33. Hope this helps. https://bryantrv.com/docs2/docs/HDW04.pdf

If the motor is still in place and just spinning I would have to guess that the mounting bolts just loosened and fell out. if nothing is broken just realign the motor and put in new bolts. If they broke off in the motor or stripped out then a motor replacement will probably be needed.

If it's like mine it feels a bit loose even once its bolted into place so don't worry if it moves a bit once you get fixed.

Thanks for your input so far. I am going to take a look at the parts diagram and try again. The shear pin on the motor side is good. The buildup on the motor is dust and grease that I cleaned off. I am going to check the shear pin on the passenger side. I am also going to see if there are any shear pins where the motor attaches to the gear box.
I have added an additional photo and may take another tomorrow.

Thanks to all who replied to help me with this. I pulled the motor and gear box out this afternoon. It seems that the shaft to the primary landing gear leg sheared off at the gearbox. It was a clean break and not noticeable to my untrained eyes until I pulled it out. This is my first fifth wheel and first experience with electric landing gear/Jack's. Your encouragement and support helped me pursue this further in my desire to be more independent and do the maintenance myself.

This would be a great time to get a new set of front jacks that have separate motors.

You need to figure out Why it sheared off , something got in a bind on the leg extend apparatus , if you only swap the motor out , it's likely to happen again.

Thanks Bertrrr,. The way it got in a bind was my error. I was hand cranking it too hard and reached the end point. Something had to give and it was the pin that snapped. I guess better a $25 part than something else.

I used a white paint pencil to mark both limits of travel so landing gear wouldn't be maxed out.......also removed each landing leg, after hitching up, to remove the slider part of the leg to rotate it 90 degrees so that the pinning holes faced from front to back......then put the add on perminate landing gear pin assembles.......so much easier now...Also bought a JR Products box w/door and mounted it where the landing gear switch was and moved the switch inside to keep it out of the weather.....did the same for the rear stabilizer switch...

The newer landing gear jacks from Lippert have shear pins on both ends and sides that fail before the shaft breaks.
You might want to consider an upgraded motor/gearbox. Running them full stop both directions will eventually cause them to fail.
Please don't ask how I know this.
