Landing gear shaft set screw
I was hitching up for a trip and saw that my passenger side foot wasn't retracting. I found that the hex head knurled cap screw was missing. That is the screw that mates the square drive shaft to the off-motor foot mechanism. The screw had vibrated out (I found it later). The cap screw didn't have a locking washer or a nut backing it. It threads through the square shaft into the (tapped) round shaft of the landing gear, and only one side of the square shaft is engaged. I replaced it with a stainless steel bolt I had handy. Is that cap screw acting as a shear pin? It seems like it was designed to fail! It's so short and it's exposed to such movement that it was bound to fall out. Your thoughts, please.
