We are planning to but a 5th wheel next spring trading in our motorhome. The Rushmore has every thing that we like and seems to be a well built unit. But we would like to hear from any Landmark owners on how they like or dislike their units. Would also appreciate any problems that you have had with the unit. Thanks for you help.

We bought a Heartland Landmark, 05', brand new and had chassis failure at 6 months, seemed at the time Heartland was using cheap Korean steel for their chassis. Scott Tuttle at Heartland was useless. We are particular folks, not kids abusing our belongings. It is a long story, but we had to leave the rig, and went to buy the best chassis we could find and wound up with an Excel, which has been wonderful! We met another couple from Ca. that also had chassis failure, so we would advise against Heartland, seriously, do your homework, or you could risk your life with an inferior Heartland product. Sorry to other Heartland owners, know everyone wants to believe they own is a good product, but we can only speak of our experience, and there is no reason for us to lie...

Chassis failure here too on our 05 LM plus other major issues such as side walls cracking, sagging water tanks. I could tell you more but I think you get the idea. The HL forum is a good place to get a pro biased opinion of HL products.

Yes, our water tank sank down too, and we had to jack it up, supporting with some boards to get it to a repair shop. I try to warn folks when I see Heartland Landmarks, but they get annoyed, as if I'm lying, but I would hate to see someone killed in this dangerous 5th wheel, but people who own Heartland products don't want to know. We went with a Excel after this, they are safe. Sorry to person who started this thread, Heartland puts out a pretty product, but it's not good, and the Heartland company DOES NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT. They wanted us to get ours fixed, but we were told by two experts it was not safe to go back on the road.
