Have two LCD's in my Fifth. However I never use the stupid bat wing thingie. Never in 20 years have I gotten good reception from them.

My LCD TV gets a better reception with the antenna and booster than without it.

An LCD television (for all intents and purposes) can be treated like any other television. The antenna that works with a CRT TV will work with an LCD TV. No better, no worse.
HD is another subject entirely.
Happy Viewing

We replaced the front overhead TV with a LCD when the old one died. We use the crank-up batwing antenna and it works just fine. Just make sure you turn on the antenna power booster to provide the best picture. On HD stations you must aim the batwing more accurately than we did previously, but it works just fine. If you are using cable or satellite, turn off the batwing booster or the picture will be snowy or nonexistant. Cable and satellite is usually a little clearer than the batwing but all are very acceptable.

HD TV channels are on the UHF TV band. UHF channels start at 14 and go up. The same antenna that you use for UHF analog TV will work for HD TV. The only thing special about HD is the method of putting the information on the TV signal and the method of decoding it in your TV are digital and not analog. The picture quality of HD is fantastic compared to analog. Another thing about HD off the air is you either have a signal or you don't. That means no more TV pictures with snow or ghost, it just drops out when the signal gets week. When I see someone advertising a HD TV antenna I have to laugh a little, because it is the same antenna, just a new name.
